D. D. Barrowes lives in a small shingled house in Mid-Coast Maine with her husband and two dogs. She raised six children, whom she considers her greatest accomplishment. For thirty years, she worked in the corporate world, telling stories through numbers and spreadsheets, always sensing that the real stories lived elsewhere. When she was laid off, she saw it as an opportunity and chose to pursue writing full-time, a decision she considers one of the best she has ever made. Her books came in their own order. The Alignment Clause explores power and integrity within corporate systems. My Beautiful Friend examines beauty, identity, and perception. Michael tells the story of a musician whose work reaches people when they need it most, followed by The Same Song. Her upcoming novel, Chiara, gives voice to Clare of Assisi from within a Franciscan community. Faith runs quietly through her work, not as doctrine but as presence.
