About Author

A storyteller inspired by life, faith, and the enduring power of human connection.

D. Barrowes believes the best stories are the ones that help us see ourselves and each other more clearly. After spending more than thirty years in the corporate world, she embraced an unexpected opportunity to pursue writing full-time, transforming a lifelong passion into a second career. That journey has shaped a collection of novels that explore the complexities of integrity, friendship, loss, faith, and personal transformation.

Living in Mid-Coast Maine with her husband and two dogs, D. D. draws inspiration from everyday life, meaningful relationships, and the quiet moments that often reveal life’s greatest truths. A devoted mother of six, she credits her family and faith for shaping the perspective that flows naturally through her work. Rather than offering simple answers, her stories invite readers to wrestle with life’s deeper questions while discovering hope along the way.

Whether writing suspense, contemporary fiction, or inspirational novels, D. D. creates characters who feel authentic and journeys that resonate long after the final chapter. Her goal is simple: to tell stories that transport readers, encourage reflection, and remind them they are never alone. Every novel is written with the hope that someone, somewhere, will find exactly the story they need, exactly when they need it.

About Author

D. D. Barrowes lives in a small shingled house in Mid-Coast Maine with her husband and two dogs. She raised six children, whom she considers her greatest accomplishment. For thirty years, she worked in the corporate world, telling stories through numbers and spreadsheets, always sensing that the real stories lived elsewhere. When she was laid off, she saw it as an opportunity and chose to pursue writing full-time, a decision she considers one of the best she has ever made. Her books came in their own order. The Alignment Clause explores power and integrity within corporate systems. My Beautiful Friend examines beauty, identity, and perception. Michael tells the story of a musician whose work reaches people when they need it most, followed by The Same Song. Her upcoming novel, Chiara, gives voice to Clare of Assisi from within a Franciscan community. Faith runs quietly through her work, not as doctrine but as presence. She writes to offer connection, hope, and understanding. Her stories aim to remind readers they are not alone. She writes from a riverside office, with her dogs nearby, as the next story begins to take shape.
